Miles Logan (
Martin Lawrence) is a jewel thief who, along with some accomplices, steals a $17 million
diamond in
Los Angeles. Things go awry during the robbery when one accomplice, Deacon (
Peter Greene), wants the diamond all for himself. Deacon manages to kill one member of the team and tries to escape with the diamond. This wastes time as Logan and Deacon argue over it, and the police end up closing in on them and Logan makes a quick escape to a nearby construction site. He is forced to hide the diamond
